New Chitose Airport in Sapporo, Hokkaido will soon open its new international flight terminal building on March 26.
The purpose for construction of a new international flight terminal building is to ease congestion by expanding ahead of demand, strengthen global competitiveness and improve airport facilities and functions. Construction started in May 2008 and costs around $220 million.

Hit by a weak economy and with no promising signs of a recovery in sight, McDonald's is planning to close 433 unprofitable outlets, mostly kiosks with a small floor area, in Japan by this year. At the same time, it plans to open 90 new restaurants and refurbishing 200 large outlets.
