Hato Bus is Tokyo's foremost sightseeing bus service and guided tour operator, offering one-day trips to various tourist spots in and around Tokyo. To celebrate the 60th anniversary of its guided bus excursions, Hato Bus plans to offer a half-day tour of Tokyo in March 2009 for 250yen (according to a local Japanese newspaper report), the price the company charged when it started the service in March 1949. About 600 customers on eight different buses will be able to participate in the revival tour, which will visit the same tourist spots as 60 years ago. It will also be offering some new courses like "Traveling back time to Tokyo in the fifties", "Memorial event in Harumi Wharf" and "Nostalgic Tokyo", alongside its bestselling courses for the summer. The hit on Military theme tours is back this summer with more seats and departures this time round. You are also able to get your tickets to watch a Sumo tournament or a Giant team baseball match live. If you are not the outdoor type and want to stay away from large crowd, there are other relaxing tours from a helicopter ride, catching a night show and dining at an upscale hotel restaurant or enjoying a night of jazz at the Cotton Club.

4900yen per person hotel bargain

NTA hotels

What caught my eyes is the special deal on downtown hotels that are going at a bargain price of 4900yen per person (twin sharing, triple and family rooms). Though breakfast is taken away whenever a good price is being given, but I still think it is worth every penny considering that the hotels are some of the big names and with good locations. The promotion is available on selected dates only and vary according to each individual hotel.
My pick would be;
Hotel Monterey Ginza, Hotel Monterey LaSoer Ginza, Shibuya Tobu Hotel and Shinjuku Washington Hotel, 9800yen/room nett price (room for two). With last offer ends in October. Contact Nippon Travel Agency (NTA) to make your reservations.
