Emirates’ Senior Vice President Confident of Successful Flight Operations of Narita Route, Aiming for 80% Seat Load Factor
Richard Jewsbury, Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations Far East and Australasia at Emirates (EK) showed his confidence in the airline’s successful flight operations of its new Narita route during the reception held on February 18 prior to the inauguration of its Narita/Dubai service. He told the guests, “Dubai will definitely continue to grow and serve as the destination,” adding, “There exists traffic demand for Middle East, Europe and Africa from Japan. We also expect inbound traffic demand for Japan from these areas.” Its average seat load factor during 2010 is expected to exceed 80 percent, he said.
Commenting on the possible competition with its rival airlines of Middle East, Jewsbury said, “There are equal chances for Middle East carriers in operating new services to Narita,” considering the existing market demand, in both directions, between Japan and Middle East and between Japan and Europe, Africa and Latin America via Middle East. Besides, capitalizing on its long-standing relationship between Emirates and the travel agencies for seven long years, the airline’s strong brand image and its product & service, he said, the airline will be able to enhance the business opportunity in Japan.
Dubai now sees approximately 300 Japanese companies established and the number of Japanese residents total as many as 3000 who help bolster the traffic demand. He further mentioned that Emirates currently operates flights to over 100 cities in six continents, adding that the airline’s excellent route network beyond Middle East is one of its strong sales points as well.
At the reception, John Kabira hosted the ceremony, attracting many guests. On display at the reception was Emirates’ new private suite-style First class seat of Boeing B777-300ER to be introduced on its Narita/Dubai route, extolling the benefits of the brand new seat to over 450 guests invited from individual companies and aviation and travel industry-related people.
