Vietnam Airlines to Add Evening Departures on Narita/Ho Chi Minh City Route, Serving 12 Weekly Flights

logo_vnVietnam Airlines (VN) plans to increase its weekly Narita /Ho Chi Minh City service from seven to 12 during its summer schedule effective from March 28. The airline currently operates seven weekly flights leaving Tokyo Narita at 1030 in the morning. Additional 5 flights are scheduled to depart from Narita at 1930 in the evening.

Vietnam Airlines A320From Ho Chi Minh City, the new service will depart at 0605 in the morning while the existing service leaves at 0005 past midnight. Aircraft to be put into service will be Airbus A321-200 with a configuration of 16 Business class and 168 Economy class seats. The new service will bring additional 920 seats weekly, one way. The airline meanwhile applied to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) for the following schedule to be approved.

It is highly likely that with the frequency increase this time, Vietnam Airlines counts on passenger-friendly connectivity with its North American route, eyeing the upcoming alliance membership of the SkyTeam.

Vietnam Airlines to launch Kansai – Hanoi service from 13th January 2010. Flight departs Kansai in the morning to make it possible for passengers to transfer to other destinations

logo_vnFrom 13th January 2010, Vietnam Airlines is starting its direct five-weekly service between Kansai – Hanoi to fill the void left by Japan Airlines, which is withdrawing from the route on 12th January. According to the change, flight departure schedule has been changed from the evening to the morning.

Vietnam Airlines PromoThe flight departs from Kansai at 11:00 and arrives at Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport (NBA) at 14:45. It makes possible for passengers to transfer to Ha Long Bay by dusk where you can enjoy distinguished scenic spots in Vietnam. Also in recent years, the direct flights to Hanoi, where many Japanese companies are launching into, is expected to expand its business travelers’ market.

Since the flight arrives Hanoi earlier than before, the connections to other destinations became more convenient. It makes possible for passengers to access to the regional cities in Vietnam and Indochina countries such as Cambodia and Laos within the same day, and also to travel across South and North Vietnam as well as travel around Indochina countries. Please consider new travel courses with Hanoi as the starting point.

Also, Vietnam Airlines will join SkyTeam alliance in June. This movement provides customers a global network with 10 SkyTeam member airlines and 2 associate airlines which have convenient access to Europe, America, Asia and Africa. The details will be announced through our homepage etc.

JAL Starts Code Share Flights with Vietnam Airlines on Osaka-Hanoi Route

logo_japanairlinesJapan Airlines (JAL) will further expand its code share agreement with Vietnam Airlines (VN) and will start offering the Osaka (Kansai) – Hanoi route operated by VN from January 13, 2010.

As announced in November last year, Japan Airlines will suspend its existing once-daily flight between Osaka (Kansai) and Hanoi from January 11, 2010. Hanoi, with its high economic growth and rich culture, remains a key destination in South East Asia that attracts many foreign businessmen and leisure travelers. Through the new code share arrangement, JAL will maintain a network of 7 routes with 33 weekly round-trip flights to Vietnam and continue providing valued customers with convenient connections to the popular city.

JAL operates flights from Tokyo (Narita) to Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi, and also offer code share flights with Vietnam Airlines on the routes Osaka (Kansai) – Ho Chi Minh, Fukuoka – Ho Chi Minh, Fukuoka – Hanoi, and Nagoya (Chubu) – Hanoi.

Reservations and ticket sales of the new code share flights start tomorrow.
